About the Role
A highly regarded Tampa law firm is seeking an experienced
Litigation Paralegal
with a background in
Insurance Defense , ideally with experience managing
Medical Malpractice
cases. The successful candidate will support attorneys in all phases of litigation, from discovery and document management to trial preparation. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to handle multiple priorities, and the skill to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Obtain, manage, and organize client documents, including electronic data, for case preparation
Conduct litigation, criminal, and civil background checks; obtain and authenticate records as needed
Identify, prepare, and produce documents, ensuring proper bates labeling and redaction for confidentiality
Assist attorneys with all aspects of trial preparation, including managing exhibits, witness lists, subpoenas, and evidentiary materials
Summarize medical records and bills, prepare medical chronologies, and create detailed case summaries
Conduct online research and efficiently utilize firm and electronic resources
Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
Coordinate with expert witnesses, including reviewing qualifications, managing retention, and serving as liaison between the firm and experts
Review vendor invoices and ensure timely submission to accounting
Manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
Qualifications
College Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
from an
ABA-approved program
Florida Registered Paralegal
status preferred
Minimum
5 years of litigation paralegal experience , with emphasis in
Insurance Defense
Trial experience strongly preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software
Strong research, writing, and case organization skills
