Pay Range: $120,000.00 – $190,000.00 per year

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Summary The APN is an independent health care provider who coordinates inpatient care through collaboration with the Physician, for cardiology patients. The APN provides care in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee. This role is for the cardiology service line.

Job Requirements (APN/NP)

Cardiovascular certification preferred

1-2 years cardiovascular hospital experience preferred

Current APN or PA License

NP Certification

RN License (if APN)

Current NJ state license, CDS and DEA

Current BLS/ACLS required

Full Time

Essential Functions

Demonstrates an ability to organize and achieve quality performance in new routine

Demonstrates effectiveness in coordinating aspects of patient care within a critical care environment

Performs admission assessments and appropriate treatment for patients

Demonstrate an ability to oversee stress testing on cardiology patients

Rounds daily with attending physician on unit

Performs appropriate interpretation of laboratory/diagnostic testing

Demonstrates strong organizational skills, communicates effectively and demonstrates time management

Performs duties with minimal supervision and coordinates care with the physician, case managers, and other consulting providers

Demonstrates effective communication, organizational, and time management skills

Implements the policies and procedures of the practice

Performs assessment and reassessment of the patient according to applicable department standards and identified tools

The ability to compassionately interact with patients across different areas of care

Recognizes areas for improvement in policies or patient care, initiates change and educates all involved in change

Regularly communicates with nursing leadership and staff concerning patient care issues

Thoroughly explains procedures to patients prior to testing

Provides appropriate patient teaching as necessary
