Purpose of the Job The Controls/Electrical Reliability Engineer is accountable for leading the maintenance and operations departments to deliver world‑class business results for the Waxahachie, TX manufacturing facility. The engineer is expected to maintain a clear view of where the facility needs to be in 1–3 years, consistently deliver results to achieve that view, and lead with a decision‑making approach that models and teaches the proper inclusion of analytics, team ideas, and personal experiences.

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining the equipment and facilities needed to produce a high‑quality product. Key functions include short‑ and long‑term maintenance planning, equipment analysis, root‑cause procedures, development and execution of preventative and predictive maintenance programs, schedule assistance, TPM leadership, and supervision of assigned maintenance employees.

Span of Control:

The engineer works directly with maintenance staff and crafts workers in both the electrical and mechanical unions.

Job Responsibilities

Live the Safety stand, adhere to safety responsibilities.

Ensure a safe, clean, environmentally compliant work environment.

Build a culture where safety is a first priority.

Achieve safety metrics (RIR, first aids, near misses).

Execute safety programs (audits, PSI’s, JHA’s).

Coach employees on safety and enforce OC safety policies.

Evaluate equipment against electrical safety standards.

Develop and Execute Controls/Electrical Reliability Engineering Strategy The strategy will focus on:

Ensuring reliability of plant machinery to meet production schedules.

Providing world‑class maintenance services.

Supervising contractors and non‑Owens Corning employees on repairs, capital projects, and plant improvements.

Implementing solutions to resolve machinery or process failures.

Scoping and executing capital projects.

Completing projects on time.

Conducting machinery audits and issuing repair plans.

Managing data, part usage, and work plans using SAP‑CMMS.

Recommending equipment repairs.

Improving plant efficiency through the Reliability Work Process.

Facilitating process improvements through people deployment and productivity enhancements.

Leading strategic business plans and delivering plant performance metrics.

Using structured problem‑solving tools for root‑cause analysis.

Enhancing overall equipment reliability with predictive tools.

Implementing predictive programs (thermography, ultrasound, vibration analysis) for electrical systems.

Supervising primary maintenance employees and developing quality work standards.

Building effective teams and committees to increase performance and drive continuous improvement.

Leading TPM expansion and maturity to eliminate losses via operator and craftsman engagement.

Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience or equivalent.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Experience in electrical reliability maintenance.

Experience leading, assessing, and developing talent.

Experience supervising employees in a unionized facility.

Experience with predictive maintenance methods (vibration, lubrication, infrared, ultrasonic, standard work).

Experience with CMMS (SAP preferred).

Root cause analysis and process improvement programs.
