Be part of changing an adult learner’s life! Volunteer to help an adult improve their reading and writing. No previous teaching experience or educational background is required. We provide all training and materials necessary to become a successful, high-impact volunteer. This opportunity is for local volunteers in San Mateo County.

Commitment is for 1-2 hours per week for at least 6 months. Tutors meet with learners in a safe and caring learning environment either in person at our East Palo Alto branch or online. Zoom experience preferred for online tutoring.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer to help adult learners improve reading and writing skills.

Commit 1-2 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months.

Conduct sessions in a safe and caring learning environment, in person at East Palo Alto branch or online via Zoom.

Utilize training and materials provided by the libraries.

Qualifications

No previous teaching experience or educational background required.

Local resident of San Mateo County.

Preferable Zoom experience for online tutoring.
