Controls Engineer
We are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our on-site team in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with automation systems, PLC programming, and motion or vision control. You will be responsible for designing, programming, and troubleshooting control systems for industrial automation equipment and robotic applications.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and program control systems for automated equipment.
Work with PLCs, robotics, and vision or motion systems to ensure optimal machine performance.
Troubleshoot and modify existing systems to improve efficiency and reliability.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support system integration, commissioning, and testing.
Maintain accurate documentation of control designs and system configurations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Hands‑on experience with at least 23 of the following:
PLC: Rockwell, Siemens, Omron.
Robot: Fanuc (preferred).
Vision systems: Fanuc, Cognex, Keyence.
Servo motion: Rockwell, Omron, Trio.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
