Virtus Renewables is seeking a dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our EHS and risk management initiatives across the company. As we continue to expand in the U.S., this hands‑on role will be critical in establishing a best‑in‑class HSE program, ensuring the safety and well‑being of employees, stakeholders, and our renewable energy operations.
We are looking for a highly organized and detail‑oriented professional with a deep understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations, particularly within the renewable energy construction and operations & maintenance (O&M) sectors.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement a long‑term HSE strategy aligned with business objectives.
Collaborate with the executive team to integrate HSE priorities into business decisions.
Foster a company‑wide culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Policy and Compliance
Oversee implementation of HSE policies and standards across all locations and business units.
Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards for occupational safety, environmental, and quality management.
Monitor regulatory updates to ensure alignment with industry best practices.
Identify, assess, and mitigate HSE risks to employee safety and environmental health.
Lead investigations of incidents, perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
Develop emergency response plans and crisis management strategies.
Training and Communication
Design and deliver HSE training programs to promote safety awareness.
Serve as the primary contact for HSE‑related matters with clients, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
Oversee HSE‑related communication protocols throughout the organization.
Audits and Reporting
Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections, recommending improvements as needed.
Manage HSE performance tracking platforms, ensuring accurate reporting for regulatory and client needs.
Produce detailed reports on HSE performance for senior management review.
Additional Duties
Facilitate contractor and vendor onboarding, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Coordinate responses to HSE‑related claims, disputes, and legal matters.
Oversee procurement, maintenance, and deployment of safety equipment and protective gear.
Required Skills and Expertise
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in HSE management, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
Regulatory Knowledge:
Deep understanding of OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards.
Analytical Skills:
Proven ability to conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills for diverse teams.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in Microsoft Office and HSE tracking software.
Education and Certifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Safety, or equivalent experience.
Certifications:
OSHA certifications required; ISO 45001 certification preferred.
Licensure:
Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Travel:
Up to 50% travel is required.
