Department Summary As part of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, we offer undergraduate (i.e., B.A. and B.S. Majors in Psychology) and graduate programs (i.e., PhD in Behavioral Sciences, Clinical Psychology, and Counseling Psychology). Our Clinical and Counseling programs are APA accredited. The UNT Department of Psychology includes ~35 faculty members, over 3,000 undergraduate majors and approximately 110 graduate students.
Position Overview This position coordinates and manages all faculty specific and program specific accounts and all associated expenditures. Additionally, it coordinates all non‑grant related research events and activities and provides cross‑training and support to other staff with financial and personnel related responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and one year of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with UNT systems: EIS, ePro, UNT System Marketplace, PowerBI and PCard purchasing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Exceptional customer service skills.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others.
Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.
Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
Supervisory skills.
Job Duties
Creates and processes departmental purchases and payments; PCard and requisitions. Manages, coordinates, and tracks expenditures (travel, purchases, events, etc.) for faculty member accounts and accounts associated with program‑specific activities.
Managing all expenditures (travel, purchasing, events, building improvements) for research‑related activities (nongrant) as well as supporting new initiatives by gathering information and developing project proposals.
Support other administrative staff with seasonal graduate student hiring and payroll activities.
Support other administrative staff with financial transactions, inventory and records management.
Support Associate Chair, Research, in planning, communicating and driving new department research initiatives.
Physical Requirements
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds.
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Environmental Hazards
No adverse environmental conditions expected.
Work Schedule M-F, 8-5
