Base Pay Range
$50,000.00/yr - $54,000.00/yr
Company Description Shaker Heights Youth Center is dedicated to supporting the emotional, behavioral, and developmental well-being of youth in the Shaker community. The organization provides programs and services to school-aged youth and their families, including counseling, behavioral intervention, leadership development, mentoring, and prevention services. Funded by organizations such as the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board of Cuyahoga County and the Cleveland Foundation, the Center plays a vital role in fostering positive youth development. It works in collaboration with Shaker Heights City Schools, the City of Shaker Heights, and other valued contributors to create a lasting impact.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site position located in Shaker Heights, OH, for a School Social Worker (Student Care Specialist). The role involves providing direct support to students to address behavioral, emotional, and social challenges, working with families to foster positive development, and coordinating services with teachers and administrators to create supportive school environments. Additionally, responsibilities include facilitating prevention and intervention programs, providing crisis intervention as needed, and maintaining accurate and confidential records.
Qualifications
Strong skills in behavioral intervention, student advocacy, and emotional support
Experience with family engagement, crisis intervention, and collaboration with educators
Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate prevention and intervention plansProficiency in case documentation, records management, and maintaining confidentiality
Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field, and licensure in the state of Ohio (e.g., LSW, LISW, or equivalent)
Experience working in school-based or youth-focused settings preferred
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all practices
