Working at the Fort Benning Central Issue Facility (CIF), the Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties, including verifying materials or merchandise against receiving documents; receiving, storing, stacking, or palletizing materials, and removing material from storage to prepare it for shipping.

Responsibilities

Verifies material and merchandise against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damage.

Routes material and equipment to prescribed storage locations.

Properly stores, stacks, or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.

Rearranges as necessary and takes inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.

Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.

Establishes and maintains stock records and other documents such as inventory, material control, accounting and supply reports.

Assists in taking inventories through physical count and records item count on inventory documents.

Operates and maintains forklifts and MHE related equipment.

May operate hand or power tools in performance of warehousing duties.

Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.

Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.

Working Environment

Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as protective mask, safety vest, steel or composite shoes/boots, safety gloves, hard hat and eyewear in certain areas.

Work will typically be in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds.

Must be able to operate in a warehouse and outdoor type environment.

Must be able to walk on uneven ground and within various sites and withstand prolonged periods of standing for 6-8 hours a day in performance of duties.

Qualifications Education/Certifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to pass the standard background check.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

NAC-I clearance required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

Skills/Experience

Four (4) years or more experience in warehouse operations.

Four (4) years or more experience in driving and operating forklifts.

Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.

Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.

Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
