Department FIN | Finance SC – Hospital Central Supply
Job Duties The Supply Technician is responsible for proper handling and dispensing of medical/surgical supplies in clinical areas, supply par areas, and various inventory locations.
Responsibilities Accurately order and fully fill par levels of medical/surgical supplies in automated supply cabinets and manually controlled bulk par rooms. Check par areas daily and as assigned; break down pallets and deliver supplies on carts, refill central supply inventory locations, and adjust inventory counts. Count, manage, and place replenishment orders as needed. Rotate supplies into sterile and non‑sterile areas on shelves, specialty carts, and floors on a FIFO basis; daily check supplies for packet integrity and remove damaged or outdated supplies. Perform cycle counts and correct counts daily and as needed to ensure accurate inventory counts. Maintain cabinets and carts in assigned areas in a neat and orderly manner; organize shelves, bins and labels and keep the supply areas clean; follow through on needed repairs; remove unauthorized, excessive, damaged or outdated supplies. Staff the Central Supply dispatch window and tube systems as assigned; issue and record supplies that are sent via pick up, delivery or tube system. Issue out procedural trays and carts and record the issuance. Responsible for after‑hour delivery of Isolation cart.
Qualifications Minimum: High School/GED plus six (6) months experience with inventory, stocking or supply distribution. Preferred: Supply distribution experience in a healthcare environment.
