This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for maintaining all machinery, equipment, and facilities at the Downers Grove location. The role requires an experienced Electrical and Mechanical maintenance technician with duties including preventative maintenance, pipe fitting, welding, light machining, electrical or mechanical repairs, and equipment installation and alignment. Key Accountabilities
Modify controls and document changes, diagnose problems, repair, disassemble components, requisition parts, clean, lubricate, and inspect repairs. Assemble, install, and repair wiring, electrical, and electronic components, and install power sources. Align and balance new equipment after installation. Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment and production machines across all facility areas. Apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts as specified by work orders, blueprints, sketches, or charts. Maintain inventory for repair parts, assemble lists for ordering, and contact suppliers for availability and cost. Record equipment repairs, both preventative maintenance and corrective reports, and utilize the CMMS. Develop and perform preventative maintenance work orders for all plant equipment. Train others on equipment preventive maintenance, pipe fitting, welding, machining, electrical, mechanical, installation, alignment, and assembly of new equipment and repairs to the facility. Promote safety awareness and follow all safety standards, procedures, and policies set by the organization and abide by OSHA and other regulatory agencies. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required. Proof of technical training in electronic systems, a certified training program, or 4‑year training program in related fields. 10 years of experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment repairing production machines. Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and use of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as a VOM. Understanding of blueprints, schematics, and specifications to perform scheduled and emergency repairs. Experience installing, maintaining,, and repairing CNC equipment such as DMG Mori, Okuma, Okamoto, Toyoda, and PLCs. Team player within the department and production areas with minimal supervision.
