SUMMARY
Seeking Experienced Track Foreman, Maintenance of Way team The person in this position oversees crews in the performance of track maintenance and is responsible for the oversight of both the maintenance and repair activities surrounding the MoW job or project functions. Responsibilities include training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints; and resolving problems. Prior EIC qualified, trained on FRA 213 Track safety, and machine operator qualifications/experience is highly desired! RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct and manage the day-to-day activities of the MoW crew Interface with others to ensure efficient and organized operations of the railroad along with the maintenance of the track Enforce compliance with safety procedures; use PPE to keep required records Monitor and closely control all maintenance and other related costs associated with MoW work Assist to ensure department meets its track, signal, and capital-projects service goals Manage other projects and perform other duties as assigned Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Full-time (40 plus hours weekly) Varying schedule in a 24/7 work environment that includes nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call as needed Outdoor work in all weather conditions Walking on uneven surfaces and climbing ladders and equipment always ensuring three points of contact Able to squat, bend and lift overhead with extended periods of kneeling or crouching (bending at the knees) Frequent lifting of equipment and tools Skills and Experience
Knowledge of FRA Track Safety Standards Knowledge of Roadway Worker Protection rules or prior EIC qualified Familiarity and knowledge of codes and standards applicable to specific construction and maintenance activity per GCOR and FRA 213 Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and temperatures Willingness to work flexible schedules and work assignments Able to complete written forms and reports as required Working knowledge of equipment such as torches, hammers, jacks, and other mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools Able to read and interpret documents including safety rules, manuals, and regulations Excellent verbal and written communication skills Possess situational awareness and decision-making abilities to respond effectively in a safety sensitive environment Required Education and Credentials
Three years of railroad track/MoW work experience Prior leadership or foreman responsibility/experience High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus At least eighteen years of age Employment Requirements
