JOB SUMMARY
Under general direction from the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach oversees specific aspects of the Men's Varsity Volleyball program. Responsibilities include player skill instruction, practice and game planning, opponent scouting, recruiting, conditioning, fundraising events, admission to practices and games, and administrative duties such as travel and travel documentation. Work schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
Salary Range:
$35,000 – $37,500 annually (budgeted)

Schedule:
Full‑time, fixed, 40 hrs/week, Mon‑Fri with weekend availability
Travel:
Up to 50% of the time, including on‑campus and off‑campus
Retention Date:
06/30/2026 (possible extension)

JOB DUTIES
Coaching (75%):
Develop technical aspects of player coaching; analyze performance; ensure compliance with NCAA and university policies; lead practice and conditioning sessions; travel to contests.
Recruitment (15%):
Assist in recruiting prospective athletes; manage documentation; travel for recruiting and conference attendance.
Fundraising (10%):
Participate in fundraising activities including camps, clinics, and departmental meetings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills with student athletes, staff, and parents.
Strong decision‑making, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of NCAA DIII rules and regulations.
Coaching expertise and experience in the relevant sport.
Leadership ability to mentor and develop student‑athletes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Social media and online communication proficiency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat.
Experience with Hudl and Front Rush.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Background check, misconduct disclosure, and criminal history screening.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
Ability to obtain NCAA certified recruiter status and CPR/AED/First Aid certification within 60 days.
Capable of long periods of computer work and in varied environmental conditions.
Consistent on‑site work and emergency response as required.
Compliance with Clery Act, vaccination policy, and child abuse reporting.
Adherence to sensitive information handling requirements.
