BMCC invites applications for two (2) CUNY Office Assistant positions in the Office of Human Resources.

These positions are provisional status and continued employment is contingent upon taking and passing a civil service examination when offered by CUNY. ResponsibilitiesThe Office of Human Resources is seeking candidates for its entry‑level position who are organized, detail‑oriented, and adaptable. Ideal candidates will perform a variety of administrative tasks efficiently, manage sensitive deadlines and documents, and handle unexpected challenges with ease. Reporting to the HR Manager or their designee, the CUNY Office Assistants will be assigned responsibilities that may include the following:

Analyze, process, and track time and attendance records, accruals, absences and leaves for classified civil service hourly employees. Handle inquiries regarding payment discrepancies, timesheet errors, and missed timesheet submissions for hourly employees to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Process employment verifications and Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) forms. Collect and process monthly leave reports for employees in faculty titles. Assist in other areas of Human Resources as needed. Candidates selected for the position will be required to complete a typing test as part of the selection process. Minimum Qualifications

A four‑year high school diploma or its educational equivalent. Two (2) years of experience performing general office work, which may be met by one of the following: Two (2) years of satisfactory, full‑time experience performing general office work; or One (1) year of satisfactory, full‑time experience performing general office work and 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university; or An associate’s degree or 60 college credits from an accredited college or university. Passage of a qualifying Work Experience Test. English Language Proficiency. All candidates must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English Language. English proficiency will be evaluated at the time of interview. Preferred Qualifications

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with project management or collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint). Knowledge of procurement processes. Compensation

New Hire: $36,700

(incumbent: $41,472). This amount reflects a 13% salary suppression in effect for the first 24 months of employment only. Benefits
