Job Summary

Sidwell Friends School, a coeducational Quaker day school, seeks a part-time seasonal Swimming & Diving Middle School Head Coach for the Washington, D.C. campus. The role reports to the Varsity Swimming & Diving Head Coach and Athletics Director and is responsible for initiating and leading various aspects of the Swimming & Diving Program such as recruiting Sidwell athletes, scheduling opponents, training student-athletes, selecting assistant coaches, participating in professional development, and attending mandatory meetings, training, and community programming. Duties & Responsibilities

Represent Sidwell Friends and the Swimming & Diving Program professionally in all aspects, including during recruitment, training, and coaching—model nondiscriminatory practices. Coordinate the development and promotion of the Swimming & Diving Program; assess player skills, assign team positions, and determine strategies; follow procedures in case of injury. Organize and schedule practice sessions and direct individual and small group practice activities/exercises. Plan, organize, and conduct a preseason meeting with all student-athletes and parents before the first official game. Maintain and secure all Swimming & Diving equipment and uniforms. Abide by SFS, Independent School League, Mid-Atlantic Conference, and District of Columbia State Athletic Association rules and regulations. Maintain a high standard of integrity and foster a culture promoting Quaker values and the student’s academic experience. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

1-3 years experience as an assistant or head Swimming & Diving coach at middle and high school levels. Demonstrate effective coaching skills and techniques, and knowledge of rules, regulations, and strategies. Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students. Available to work nights and weekends. As a condition of employment, the selected candidate will complete and clear a background and fingerprint screening before the first day of work. Upon hire, they will obtain CPR Certification, First Aid training, Bus training, and other requirements immediately, upon hire. Compensation

Stipend: $2,675.00–$3,852.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications. To Apply
