The Department of Mathematics is seeking applicants to fill one tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Mathematics beginning August 1, 2026.

Tennessee Technological University, located in Cookeville, Tennessee, is a comprehensive public university serving approximately 11,000 students. The Department of Mathematics has 25 faculty specializing in areas from number theory to artificial intelligence. Essential Functions

Ability to teach, develop, and implement courses related to one’s curricular area and serve the overall teaching needs of the department.

Ability to teach a variety of mathematics courses including introductory statistics and mathematics courses for elementary education majors.

Maintain an active research agenda in Statistics or related fields.

Be willing and able to lead graduate student research projects.

Demonstrate the willingness and ability to work effectively with colleagues to support the mission of the Mathematics Department and the greater campus community.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in Mathematics or Statistics from an accredited institution.

Strong mathematics background.

Research interest in Statistics or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of high-quality research.

Evidence of high-quality teaching.

Compensation And Benefits Salary: commensurate with education and experience. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track appointment to begin August 1, 2026.

Benefits Information: Benefits include the accumulation of one (1) sick leave day per month and thirteen (13) University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits. Deferred income and benefits over 12 months.
