Title: Coach - Assistant Coach - Girls Soccer
Location: Wyandotte HS

Job Goal Directly responsible to the head coach of a sport. The assistant coach will be expected to exhibit total loyalty to the program, the head coach, and the other assistants at all times. The assistant coach will be required to carry out all assignments given to him by the head coach.
Essential Functions
Assist the head coach as directed; organize and direct coaching staff
Collect physical examination forms and insurance release forms
Report injuries to school nurse and maintain accurate records of lost or stolen equipment
Manage equipment check‑outs and inventory; submit list of equipment needs
Provide a roster of players and a list of athletes to receive awards at season end; plan the awards ceremony
Ensure proper team conduct on trips and during contests
Know all rules pertaining to the sport; treat or attend to injuries or athletes as needed
Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of equipment and uniforms
Organize practice sessions
Qualifications
Certified teacher or must qualify for Rule 10 approval through the Kansas State High School Activities Association
Communication / Organization: Maintains communication with school personnel, and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action which will meet the educational needs of students. Utilizes existing technology effectively in the performance of duties. Performs other related work as required.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Language Skills: Ability to read and analyze and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, general curriculum and learning theories, correspondence, and protocols. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, parents, students, and the general public.
Physical Demands: The employee is required to sit, walk, stand, talk, and hear regularly. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. The employee may occasionally push items of 50 pounds, such as pushing a bike or wheelchair, or moving and rearranging furniture. The employee may occasionally visit a child's home. Vision requirements include close, distance, and depth perception.
Work Environment: The work environment is usually loud. The employee is directly responsible for students' safety, work output, and well‑being.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; plan and implement lessons based on objectives. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents, and community; speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication.
Terms of Employment Varies by sport.
Salary Based on the Kansas City Kansas Supplemental Salary Schedule.
Report To Board of Education.
Evaluation Performance evaluated in accordance with the Board of Education policy.
