Build your career in shipping and logistics. CMA CGM is looking for a Procurement Officer to join its ILS department, based in Antwerp or Rotterdam.
ABOUT THE ROLE The Procurement Officer is responsible for negotiating, registering, and updating all purchase rates related to transport, logistics, and maintenance & repair (M&R) at inland terminals throughout the year.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct annual rate negotiations with suppliers, in alignment with your manager and budgetary guidelines.
Update "rate comparison" files in preparation for annual negotiations.
Create the annual rate negotiation on our Tendering Platform Freightender and follow up the first round offers made by the vendors.
Analyse rate offers and calculate the total impact for CMA CGM.
Make counterproposals to the vendors that form the basis of the negotiations.
Organize a second round on Freightender for final rates.
Update all finalized transport and M&R rates (both standard and special rates) using Excel and Access.
Request and process special rates from vendors for special accounts.
Identify specific transport solutions based on special customer requests (Tenders).
Perform monthly and/or quarterly fuel/BAF (bunker adjustment factor) updates in Access and Excel databases.
Monitor storage rates for both full and empty.
Support the administrative and dispatch departments with any rate-related inquiries regarding transport providers in our network.
Maintain general supplier information: contact details, LARA codes, contracts, etc.
Create new supplier profiles related to (intermodal) transport and inland terminals.
Report to the Procurement Manager and the European procurement organization.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Strong knowledge of the intermodal network operated by ILS BLX.
Full understanding of all service providers used by ILS BLX (transport, logistics, M&R).
Excellent negotiation and communication skills with all suppliers in our network.
Outstanding communication skills in both Dutch and English, including relevant industry terminology, both spoken and written. Knowledge of French and German is an asset.
Proficiency with current technologies and commonly used software tools.
Understanding of internal company structure.
Customer-focused, reliable, stress-resistant, and capable of working independently.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Proactive approach.
