The Role: As a leader in Supply Chain, you will be responsible to develop and execute all phases of Lean Material Systems to create the most efficient, leanest designs for the entire GM Enterprise. This individual will work with all levels of across functional teams to drive CIP, support launch execution & steady state improvements, and drive established best practices.
Work as a One Team with VS Material & LMS Execution team to execute all Product Programs, manage funding for Material & LMS Launch initiatives. Develop / understand long-term Material & LMS vision for the plant. Plan and support execution of all Plant Material Strategies including material flow, material routings, storage space requirements, mobile equipment, layout development, storage areas, kitting, small lot strategy, sequence planning, PFEP, etc.
What You'll Do:
Implement standardize material flow and material handling processes and measure plant compliance.
Implement standardize internal benchmarks for material flow and material handling processes.
Maintain productivity scorecards, LMS scorecards & LMS wall.
Drive material Planning Metrics (DDP and DPPN) to be applied in all regions.
Develop efficient material Route Planning (GMOS), Dock Strategies, Material Flow.
Follow material flow diagram to drive the best part presentation (Total enterprise cost).
Develop and track master dot milestones and deliverables.
Support the manufacturing launch team and the plant program team.
Develop and applied lean material strategies (LMS) using the material Matrix to ensure most efficient material presentation to manufacturing operations.
Drive and execute common standards, process and lean designs.
Integrate Lean Manufacturing and GM-Global manufacturing System (GMS) principles.
Provide updates to plant staff and program team as required.
Support PFMEA and SFEMEA process.
Drive solving problem issues for throughput and quality issues.
Support BIQ Objectives.
Analize existing operations and process continuous improvements (CI).
Optimize floor space, materials, personnel and equipment.
Monitor adherence to recommended Safety procedures and ergonomics guidelines.
Develop, track, and implement budget allocation.
Facility design, layout and process that reduce cost/achieve operational efficiencies.
Provides support for execution and readiness activities related to steady state and mayor launches.
Drive implementation of best practices and standardized performance metrics across all GA assembly operations.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Supply chain
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Material, packaging, Industrial) or equivalent experience.
High level on interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
Strong analytical, computer, presentations and problem-solving skills.
High level of analytical ability and problem solving where problems are unusual and difficult.
Knowledge of measurement/work standards, ergonomic principles, material optimization and facility layouts strongly preferred.
knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes.
knowledge of supply chain Process and GM Plant Material Experience.
High level of communication skills, both oral and written and the ability to present findings to all levels of organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in AutoCAD, GMOS, MGO.
Project management and launch execution experience
Warehouse management systems experience.
