Overview Tessera is dedicated to creating opportunities for people with disabilities and hiring veterans with disabilities. The Quality Control Safety Inspector oversees safety, environmental management, ISO 9001 compliance, and quality assurance programs for USAFA BMC operations.
Typical Duties
Develop, implement, and monitor safety, quality, and environmental programs aligned with ISO 9001 standards and regulatory requirements.
Coach and support personnel involved in local compliance efforts.
Coordinate and deliver training programs such as defensive driving, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and fire protection.
Conduct inspections, audits, and fire drills to ensure operational compliance and readiness.
Investigate incidents and nonconformance issues and prepare technical reports and corrective action plans.
Draft and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and local operating procedures for EH&S functions.
Collaborate with environmental offices and internal teams to manage SDS documentation and work order execution.
Utilize systems such as Maximo, DoD e‑Tools, and ESMIS to monitor data accuracy and identify trends.
Review maintenance records and inspection files to detect recurring issues and recommend improvements.
Provide independent assessments and recommendations to optimize site safety, quality, and environmental processes.
Qualifications
Experience in safety, quality control, and environmental compliance (preferably in military or government contracts).
Strong knowledge of OSHA, USACE, and ISO 9001 standards.
Proficiency in data systems such as Maximo and DoD platforms.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
Physical Requirements
Reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for extended periods.
Repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking; standing or sitting for several hours; climbing in and out of a vehicle; up and down stairs.
Work effectively under pressure for extended periods.
Requirements
Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID‑compliant license or acceptable alternative (passport or military ID).
Must obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access; a background check and E‑Verify will be conducted.
