Outbound Business Development Representative (BDR) HubSpot welcomes individuals to join our Sales team as a Business Development Representative (BDR). As part of our commitment to building a hybrid company, BDRs can be flexible with their work location, choosing to be based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, or remotely in the US.

We’ll be honest — sales isn’t easy, and it’s not for everyone. But for those who love a challenge, thrive on results, and want to launch a long‑term path in sales, it’s incredibly rewarding.

The Role As an outbound BDR, you’ll play a key role in HubSpot’s growth engine. You'll be the first touchpoint for many of our future customers, sparking conversations through strategic outreach, uncovering pain points, and qualifying leads. You’ll partner closely with Account Executives to deliver high‑quality meetings that drive pipeline, impact, and revenue. Along the way, you’ll sharpen your sales toolkit daily and gain exposure to a world‑class sales organization.

Compensation & Career Track This is the first of three levels in our BDR program — designed to take you from prospecting pro to promoting to a full‑cycle closer.

Base salary: $52,220 USD On‑target commission: $22,380 USD OTE (on‑target earnings): $74,600 USD

With each promotion, both salary and commission increase — along with your impact.

What You’ll Do

Own and execute outbound prospecting through high‑volume outreach (60–100+ activities/day) via phone, email, and LinkedIn.

Collaborate with Account Executives to target strategic accounts and refine outreach strategy.

Qualify leads based on fit, need, and urgency — and book quality discovery meetings.

Hit (and exceed) KPIs for activity, meetings delivered, and pipeline impact.

Grow fast. Learn fast. Get coached. Apply it. Repeat.

Either have past sales success or have demonstrated excellence in goal‑driven roles (e.g., fundraising, athletics, service industry).

Pay & Benefits The cash compensation below includes base salary, on‑target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are tailored to your skills, experience, qualifications, and other job‑related reasons.

Annual Cash Compensation Range $71,000—$82,900 USD
