Southeast US Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager at EnviroScience is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities to support the company's growth initiatives. This position will collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to expand the company's client base, foster relationships with key stakeholders, and promote the company's environmental and scientific services. The successful candidate will bring a strategic mindset to align market opportunities with EnviroScience's core competencies, driving revenue and customer success. Lead Generation & Client Acquisition

Qualify, develop, manage and track inbound (phone, web and RFP) leads and opportunities. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within environmental science, consulting, and sustainability sectors. Develop and execute outreach strategies to acquire new clients, using a combination of networking, cold calling, and relationship building. Manage and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients and projects. Market Research & Analysis

Collaborate with the marketing team to craft targeted campaigns that address market opportunities and trends. Provide insights on market gaps and potential service expansions based on client and competitor analysis. Proposal & Contract Development

Develop proposals, presentations, and sales materials tailored to client needs. Work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate scoping of projects and to align proposals with company capabilities. Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, partners, and stakeholders. Represent EnviroScience at industry conferences, trade shows, and events to enhance visibility and foster connections. Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the onboarding process, ensuring smooth transitions from prospect to active project status. Collaboration with Internal Teams

Work closely with the operations and project teams to ensure alignment between client expectations and project delivery. Regularly collaborate with the executive team to align business development strategies with company goals and targets. Provide regular updates to leadership on business development activities, project pipelines, and performance against goals. Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Experience: 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a client‑facing role, preferably in the environmental science or consulting industry. Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of experience in business development, particularly within environmental consulting or related scientific fields. Experience working with utilities, government agencies, NGOs, or large corporations on environmental or engineering projects. Familiarity with the technical aspects of environmental consulting services including regulatory compliance, ecological restoration, underwater services and water resource / stormwater and engineering consulting. Desired Skills

Ability to align business opportunities with company strengths and market demand. Strong networking skills with the ability to build and maintain long‑term relationships with diverse stakeholders. Skilled in negotiating contracts and agreements that are mutually beneficial. Excellent presentation and proposal writing skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to clients. Ability to oversee projects from concept to execution, ensuring client satisfaction and timely delivery. Comfort working in a fast‑paced, evolving industry with the ability to adjust strategies based on new market trends and insights. Work Environment

This position will support multiple departments and will require working independently to cultivate and secure sales with minimal supervision. Overnight travel for technical and marketing conferences is required (estimated 30 days per year). Remote Hybrid Details

Employees will work remotely but may need to come into the Stow, Ohio office to retrieve a company vehicle or for sales trips and training. Standard office equipment will be provided. A dedicated home office space with uninterrupted internet (minimum 20 Mbps) is required; otherwise an office space in Stow may be provided. Travel Requirements

Regular day travel to client meetings to meet sales goals. Overnight travel required, estimated 30 days per year. Additional Information
