Job Description The Blaster/Painter will perform blasting and painting utilizing marine coatings to specified contract requirements. Responsible for ensuring multiple surfaces are prepared for the application of high performance coatings, overseeing the proper use of solvents, acids, detergents, and power and hand tools.
Responsibilities
Perform blasting and painting in a marine facility or shipyard environment.
Ensure surfaces are properly prepared for coating application.
Oversee the use of solvents, acids, detergents, and power and hand tools.
Employ various blast methods and equipment to paint and coat vessels, tanks, and equipment.
Direct blasting of abrasive‑laden compressed air or water against metal or hard components to remove scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt.
Oversee the use, care, maintenance, and inspection of blasting equipment, performing preventative maintenance and maintaining adequate parts and supplies.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience in a marine facility or shipyard environment.
Valid TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential), driver's license, and First Aid & CPR.
Read, write, and clearly communicate in English.
