Overview : Blue Yonder's Professional Services team is seeking a
Staff Data Science Consultant (DSC)
to join our
Retail Planning Solutions
group. In this role, you'll partner with customers to unlock the full value of their business through data-driven insights and intelligent decision support. You'll serve as a trusted advisor by recommending software configuration options, implementing optimized solutions, and ensuring our customers achieve maximum value from their Blue Yonder investments.
What you'll do:
Algorithm Development:
Design, develop, and test algorithms, models, and solution approaches to address business issues with minimal supervision.
Prototype Development:
Create prototypes and proofs of concept for new features to demonstrate feasibility and effectiveness.
Integration and Implementation:
Embed models and algorithms into product solutions, ensuring operational aspects and client usability are prioritized.
Mentorship:
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists and data analysts within the team.
Quality Assurance:
Develop high-quality code and tests, adhering to clean code principles and Blue Yonder's standards.
Customer Collaboration:
Engage with clients to understand their needs, present findings, and implement tailored solutions that drive business value.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay abreast of advancements in technology and methodologies to continuously improve the team's capabilities.
Technical Environment:
Advanced machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
Big data processing tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment of machine learning models
Familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
What we are looking for:
Advanced degree (PhD or Master's) in
Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research, Statistics , or a related discipline
8+ years of experience applying data science
to solve real-world challenges, with deep expertise in machine learning and operations research in a professional work setting
Proficiency in
Python
or
R , with hands‑on experience using modern frameworks such as
TensorFlow
or
PyTorch
Proven track record of
leading data-driven projects
and
mentoring teams
to deliver impactful business outcomes
Exceptional ability to
translate complex technical concepts
into insights that inspire understanding and action across diverse audiences
Recognized thought leadership through
publications, patents, or conference contributions
is a strong plus
Experience in
Retail Supply Chain Management
or related domains is highly desirable

The annual salary range for this position is USD $107,321.00 - $143,896.18
The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
