We’re honored to bring our leading-edge care and state-of-the-art technology to Florida’s Suncoast. Our 254-bed full-service facility offers emergency care, a primary stroke center, orthopedics and the only licensed obstetric and pediatric units in Charlotte County.
The roleyou’ll contribute: Processes specimens for pathologic diagnosis, tissue fixation, processing, preparing and staining slides for microscopic examination by the pathologist.
The valueyou’llbring to the team: Follows established procedures to collect and process biological specimens for analysis. Registers, orders, and accessions pathology specimens into computer systems. Adheres to safety requirements and appropriately handles and disposes of chemicals. Follows safety policies including the use of PPE, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling, and completes required training for handling hazardous waste. Utilizes automated histology equipment properly according to lab procedures and manufacturers’ instructions. Assists pathologists with frozen section preparations and procedural areas with specimen collection such as Fine Needle Aspirations. May prepare cytology specimens. Maintains technical skills and aptitudes related to specimen processing and staining performed in the department or work area assigned.
Theexpertiseand experiencesyou’llneed to succeed: High School Grad or Equiv 1+ Work Experience Preferred Histotechnician (HTASCP) Preferred Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) - License Preferred Medical Laboratory Technician (MLTASCP) Preferred
