Qualified candidates must hold one of the following credentials: Associate Clinical Social Worker, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, or the licensed versions of these credentials.

A/LMFT, A/LCSW, A/LPCC – Adult Clinic – Temecula Population: Adults (18‑59½ y.o.) with severe and persistent mental health/behavioral health challenges, qualifying for County Behavioral Health services.
A/LMFT, A/LCSW, A/LPCC – PD Outreach – Hemet Population: individuals in crisis, families, hospitals, and other clinics – Field Work.
A/LMFT, A/LCSW, A/LPCC – MCMT Integrated – Beaumont, Moreno Valley & Riverside Population: Mobile Crisis Management Team – all ages responding to members in a mental health crisis across the county.
A/LMFT, A/LCSW, A/LPCC – TAY Mid County Drop‑In – Perris & Riverside Population: TAY ages 16‑25 outpatient mental health – Field Work.
A/LMFT, A/LCSW, A/LPCC – CBAT 911 DISPATCH – Riverside Population: individuals in crisis, their families, and other mental health professionals.
A/LMFT, A/LCSW, A/LPCC – YHIP Mid County – Riverside Populations: Adults and Children Experience: Crisis intervention and mental health.
A/LMFT, A/LCSW, A/LPCC – Mobile Response Program Population: All ages – Field Work.
A/LMFT, A/LCSW, A/LPCC – Moreno Valley Clinic – Bilingual Only Population: Children, adolescents, and their families.
LMFT, LCSW, LPCC – Youth & Family Community Services – Riverside Population: Child welfare and juvenile justice youth, 5‑21 y.o. – Field Work. Experience: Youth in foster care or the social services system.
LMFT, LCSW, LPCC – DPSS Assessment Team – Riverside Population: Youth and non‑minor dependents – Field Work. Experience: Minimum two years of mental health services (assessment, individual/group therapy for youth) with telehealth or in‑person at the out‑stationed location.
Responsibilities
Interview consumers, relatives, and other involved parties to gather personal and social data relevant to mental or emotional disorders.
Develop assessment plans and evaluate psychological, economic, vocational, educational, physical, health, social, and housing needs.
Coordinate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other program staff and community agencies to design treatment or rehabilitation plans.
Assist consumers and families in understanding and selecting mental health treatment options.
Conduct individual, collateral, group, and family therapy sessions.
Maintain effective contact with local mental health resources, schools, residential facilities, and other agencies.
Perform specialized tasks, including involuntary hospitalization procedures (5150) and Tarasoff assessments.
Participate in mental health conferences and local committees.
Prepare reports and write correspondence.
Provide guidance to volunteers and staff.
Act as a casework consultant to other clinical therapists and departmental staff.
Provide clinical supervision to unlicensed clinicians within scope of licensure.
Coordinate clinical decisions in response to operational demands.
Conduct clinical discussions regarding complex or difficult cases.
Respond to emergencies within licensure that may occur on the unit.
Coordinate the flow of information and clinical data for continuity in treatment or shifts.
Serve as liaison with other sections, units, services, and agencies.
Qualifications
Possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related behavioral science field.
Clinical Therapist I must have a valid certificate of registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor issued by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Clinical Therapist II must have a valid certificate of registration as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor issued by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Clinical Therapist I is required to obtain a license (LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT) within six years from date of hire. Qualified for eight years if hired before September 18 2014.
Clinical Therapist II is a licensed level professional with responsibility for a full range of psychotherapy and counseling, including lead duties over other staff.
License/Certificate: Possession of a valid California driver’s license may be required.
Bilingual testing: Bilingual (Spanish) non‑proctored assessment will be coordinated by Human Resources.
Security clearance: Successful clearance by the Sheriff’s Department may be required within the Department of Behavioral Health.
Salary Clinical Therapist I: $30.68 – $44.30 hourly Clinical Therapist II: $35.35 – $50.32 hourly
