Radiologic Technologist PRN – Children’s Hospital Colorado
Perform high quality pediatric diagnostic imaging procedures. Provide conscientious patient care while adhering to all quality and safety standards defined by the organization. Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, patient instructions, and record maintenance. Communicate regularly with patients, families, and hospital/community caregivers in accordance with department expectations for patient interactions. May be required to be on call depending on location.

Hours: Varied shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Position eligible for shift differentials (PRN, evening, night & weekend).
Duties & Responsibilities
Produce high quality radiographic images, both fixed and portable, accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology.
Facilitate patient flow daily; include management of STAT/urgent and high priority patients.
Provide age‑appropriate care and prepare patients for procedures.
Provide clear and detailed information regarding the procedure and care to patients, families, coworkers, and others.
Operate all diagnostic imaging equipment, including ancillary equipment, following safety procedures and protocols.
Utilize ALARA principles and ensure proper radiation safety practices.
Maintain competency in dose reduction techniques and the Image Gently Campaign.
Demonstrate and maintain competency and ability to use all aspects of Radiology Information System (RIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for modality‑specific functions and use.
Act as first responder and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) until help arrives in an emergency.
Verify patient allergies and clinical indications prior to contrast administration. Safely administer contrast using the five rights. Ensure contrast is appropriately ordered and documented in patients’ medical record.
Assist provider with procedures as necessary (maintaining technologist scope of practice). Follow established procedural guidelines; document appropriate information; practice aseptic/sterile technique and standard precautions when necessary.
Follow department policies, procedures, and protocols. Raise or address concerns regarding non‑compliance or patient/staff safety.
Follow established QA/QC and safety programs to include The Joint Commission, American College of Radiology (ACR), and the State of Colorado.
Promptly report equipment malfunctions or errors and contact respective service engineer or Biomed for repair.
Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written, following established department guidelines for customer service.
Maintain flexibility around shift scheduling, location, call requirements, overtime, and weekend assignments to align with organizational needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited radiology program (education).
Certification:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT(R)).
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider.
Salary Information Hourly: $29.48–$40.88 (dependent on relevant experience).
