Position Summary The Clinical Trials Processing Laboratory (CTPL) is a translational shared resource that supports clinical researchers in early phase clinical translational research by providing dedicated staff for high-volume procurement, processing, storage, delivery and shipment of research specimens critical to the correlative studies component of clinical trials.

The

Clinical Research Manager

is responsible for managing day-to-day specimen processing operations of the CTPL across multiple sites at OSU.

Responsibilities

Ensuring appropriate procurement, processing, short‑term storage and shipment of biospecimens

Billing activities across multiple sites at OSU

Coordinating with the Clinical Trials Offices, hospital departments, laboratories and other Shared Resources

Managing quality assurance/control for specimens and equipment maintenance and certification

Ensuring protocol compliance with regard to specimens procurement and processing

Trains and manages processing staff

Participates in budget and business planning

Ensures services meet the needs of investigators

Conducts specimen quality assurance and quality control

Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree; supervisory experience; knowledge of clinical trials; minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical operations, clinical research or laboratory setting. Excellent communication skills; knowledge of research protocols.
