ATHLETIC TRAINER ORTHOPAEDICS
JOB LOCATION: Duke Orthopaedics Arringdon 5601 Arringdon Park Dr, Morrisville, NC 27560 JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide direct and indirect care to patients at Duke Orthopaedic Clinic located in Morrisville, NC. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Care Responsibilities:
Rooming patients, collecting histories, documenting initial pass HPI, charting, answering phone calls, completing forms, patient education, setup and maintenance of sterile fields. Clerical Duties:
Prepping clinics, obtaining test results, updating charts, verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations, coordinating referrals and appointments. Fulfills EOC Responsibilities:
Cleaning exam rooms, ordering and stocking supplies, maintaining a safe work environment by checking for expired supplies and medications, emptying sharps containers. Organizational Duties:
Promoting patient rights, responding to emergency codes, following HR, Compliance, and Joint Commission policies. State Law Responsibilities:
Autoclaving, checking vital signs, suture removal, dressing changes, entering orders based on physician protocols, biohazard waste management, applying DME to patients. Additional Skills:
Develop the ability to remove casts, apply basic splints and casts to upper and lower extremities, and accurately fit all DME products used in the clinic. Post-Operative Evaluation:
Certain athletic trainers will evaluate patients during their first post-operative visit, with a physician or APP present for support. The note will be co-signed by the MD or APP. Other duties as assigned by your manager or HCA. JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
A four-year college degree meeting athletic trainer requirements; Master's preferred. NATABOC Certification (National Athletic Trainers Association-Board of Certification). Licensed by NC Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners. Current CPR certification.
