With inpatient and outpatient services, our professional team of radiologists and radiology technicians ensures that each diagnostic imaging test or interventional radiology procedure is performed efficiently and with patient comfort in mind. Position Summary
Sonographer I FT Days Brookwood Provides quality patient care by performing diagnostic sonographic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention. SHIFT:
Tuesday – Friday, 4 10-hour shifts, hours to be determined upon hire Responsibilities
Essential Functions Works closely with Radiologist to perform diagnostic sonographic exams. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor consistent with quality care. Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures. Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality. Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and commitment to excellence standards. Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs. Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results. Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation. Positions patient, equipment, and associated devices; manipulates technical factors to achieve high-quality images. Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification. Ensures demonstration of all relevant anatomy. Complies with Quality Control standards and participates in related tasks. Administers medical aid as required in emergencies. Applies standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination. Assists in supervision and training of student and new sonographers. Utilizes all radiology computer systems effectively and accurately. Ensures safety of all customers. Maintains regular, punctual attendance per policies. Maintains compliance with all organizational policies and procedures. Other Related Functions Follows established standards for image processing and interpretation. Maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment. Provides patient transport if required. Qualifications
Education/Training:
Graduate of an accredited school of sonography and meets ARDMS eligibility guidelines. Licensure/Certification:
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS; current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification; maintains ARDMS physics registry and one additional ARDMS registry. Experience:
Knowledge of routine ultrasound procedures and demonstrated competency in performing ultrasound examinations pertinent to the department.
