In the role of Civil/Structural Construction Inspector, we'll count on you to:
Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for buildings and facilities
Conduct inspection of electrical, mechanical/HVAC and site civil
Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects
Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders and performing in-place soil compaction testing
Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress
Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or a comparable combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of construction inspection of major transportation/infrastructure projects for public agencies such as PANYNJ, MTA/NYCT, NJ Transit, NYCDDC, NYCSCA is required.
Excellent Organizational and communication skills.
PE license in New York or New Jersey.
OSHA 30-hour training.
ACI Concrete Special Inspection and ICC Structural Steel and Bolting certifications.
Preference given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing.
