What to Expect The Licensed Electrician is part of Tesla's Energy Field Operations team. As a skilled member of the team, the Licensed Electrician will help lead the installations of residential PV solar systems, Solar Roof, battery storage, and EV wall connectors. The ideal candidate will provide electrical expertise that will contribute to the overall success of installing Tesla's energy products. All necessary training, tools and equipment will be provided, including a company vehicle for some positions.

What You'll Do

Complete residential Main Panel Upgrades (MPU)

Work with peers and leadership to evaluate job requirements and cost

Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical component and system issues

Lead efforts on safe work practices for the Field Operations team

Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the process by educating customers about the product(s) and offering real-time updates on job status

Document and update job status in the company database

Attend training sessions and weekly team meetings on new products, installation methodology and safety. Perform other related duties, as assigned

What You'll Bring

A valid state Journeyman Electrician License, and understands NEC codes

Position requires working at heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders, stairsand performing repetitious duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time

Able to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, rain, cold, crawl spaces, etc.). Must meet OSHA fall protection standards for at height work limited at 310 lbs.and have the ability to climb and utilize equipment on site including various ladders rated for 325 lbs. Standard 1926.502 (d)(16)(v)

Must be able to meet equipment standards for fall protection (harness, anchor, ropes, etc.) with a maximum capacity of 310 lbs. and have the ability climb and utilize equipment on site including various ladders rated for 325 lbs.

Experience using basic hand and power toolsand basic computer skills required. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skillsalong with excellent customer service skills

Ability to safely handle tools and materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials,etc.

Must have compliant government issued identification for domestic air travel and/or to access certain federal facilities. Validdriver'slicense required

Expected Compensation $21.93 - $57.83/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
