What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Perform coding for services in clinic, hospital, nursing home, and home settings
Review patient documentation and assign accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes
Ensure codes reflect medical necessity and comply with official coding guidelines
Utilize query and clarification processes to align documentation, charges, and codes
Adhere to AHIMA and AAPC ethical standards; occasional travel to employer facilities required
What is Required (Qualifications):
Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare facility, health care business office, or equivalent education
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent coding certification (CPC-A, CCA, COC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT)
Experience with coding in diagnostic imaging or infusion service is a plus
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Experience in a healthcare setting related to coding and billing processes
