Patient Services Representative
This position serves as a resident expert in their area of support by providing an environment of good will and optimum services to patients and clients. Department: Specialty - Walk-In Clinic, Podiatry, Acupuncture, Chiropractic services.
Schedule Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Location On-site (100%) in Sacramento, CA (95811).
Essential Functions
Promptly and courteously provide the information and services requested by patient.
Take initiative to seek assistance from others; inform patient/clients of the need to do so; explain who is being called upon to help; and ensure that all patient/clients requests are addressed in a way which minimizes inconveniences of all parties.
Maintain strict patient/client confidentiality at all times.
Verify and update patient demographic information and insurance information.
Communicate appointment delays effectively with patients and providers; apprise patients of wait times, delays, etc.
Verify patient insurance eligibility and co-payment. (HMO's, PPO's, Managed Care)
Create daily batch and collect co-payment, provide receipt, and obtain credit/debit card authorization as needed.
Explain terms and conditions of services and financial responsibility.
Answer phones as needed.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3 years previous medical secretarial/office experience required.
Active CPR, BLS Certification.
AA degree (Preferred).
