The community you’ll be caring for:

Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368‑bed AdventHealth Orlando

Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America

AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country

The role you’ll contribute: The Cytotechnologist performs anatomical pathology procedures as licensed. Requires the exercise of independent judgement under minimum supervision. Work customarily involves procedures, which require a high degree of theoretical and practical knowledge, and expertise in licensed area(s). Adheres to the AdventHealth Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

Evaluates and formulates an opinion for the pathologist on abnormal gynecological thin layer, non‑gynecological, and fine needle aspiration slide preparations.

Conducts pre‑and post‑analytical activities related to tests, including specimen collection and processing, quality control, equipment maintenance, inventory control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing procedures.

May perform molecular testing and/or ancillary testing from specimen vials, correlating with morphologic findings.

Completes routine screenings for cell specimens, reports results, and documents daily workload records.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Bachelor's degree

FL licensure - all 5 areas (including Cytology)

ASCP certification

Experience in cytology

Preferred:

Masters degree

CTASCP

SCT
