Straight and Narrow - Medical Department Headquartered in Paterson, NJ, Straight and Narrow is the largest program of its kind, providing compassionate services to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. We are looking for dedicated, caring, and compassionate nurses to work in our Residential/Outpatient Treatment Facilities and Community Programs. Registered Nurse - RN (Temporary to Full Time) Location:
Paterson, NJ Schedule:
11:00pm - 7:00am, every other weekend and some holidays required Responsibilities include: Providing triage services, evaluating medical and psychiatric status, and assessing withdrawal needs under supervision of the Medical Director. Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Delegating patient care to team members responsibly. Using clinical tools like COWS and CIWA to assess withdrawal symptoms. Dispensing medication per physician orders and maintaining accurate records. Assisting with examinations, medical care, procedures, and client intake. Maintaining medical records and ensuring emergency equipment readiness. Conducting nursing education and wellness groups. Managing controlled substance counts and ensuring compliance. Participating in staff development and quality improvement projects. Communicating effectively with the treatment team and making appropriate referrals. Qualifications: Experience in addiction, mental health, or corrections preferred but not required; training provided to enthusiastic learners. Team player with a caring attitude towards individuals in recovery. Current and valid RN license in New Jersey and knowledge of professional nursing practices.
