Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, with experience in various veterinary practices. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care to our patients and supporting our veterinarians in delivering exceptional medical services.
Duties
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostics, including blood work and urinalysis.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Monitor animal health and behavior, providing critical care when necessary.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures and while handling specimens.
Provide pet grooming services as needed, ensuring the comfort and hygiene of animals.
Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry, nutrition, and preventive care.
Handle animals safely using appropriate restraint techniques to minimize stress.
Operate diagnostic equipment such as X‑ray machines and assist with imaging procedures.
Experience and Qualifications
Previous veterinary technician experience is preferred.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology.
Experience with animal catheterization, restraint techniques, and critical care practices.
Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment.
Background in kennel management or dog training is a plus.
Equine experience is desirable but not mandatory.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with pet owners and team members.
A passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing exceptional care.
