West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seeks a Palliative Care Physician (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.
Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites.
Duties
Practice in Palliative Care medicine, providing excellent patient care.
Actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and eligible for state medical license.
Completed residency in internal medicine or family medicine and fellowship in palliative care by the time of appointment.
Board certified or eligible in Palliative Medicine.
All qualifications met by the time of appointment.
The Section of Geriatrics, Palliative Medicine and Hospice at WVU has the main mission to advance health care and quality of life for older people and those with serious illnesses.
Our Palliative Medicine and Hospice team provides patient and family centered care that offers quality of life for patients with life‑limiting illnesses by anticipating, preventing, and treating suffering. Inpatient and outpatient services are provided, including local nursing homes.
