FRIENDS IN ACTION CLUBHOUSE Friends in Action is a community center that offers people who have mental illness hope and opportunities to achieve their full potential. More than simply a program or a social service, a Clubhouse is a community of people who are working together to achieve a common goal. Friends in Action Clubhouse is located near the BJC Behavioral Health Southeast site and the Friendship House apartments at 657 Walton Drive in Farmington. -

Flexible Day Shift, at least one evening a month (11-7), one weekend day every 4 months, 2 of the 6 major holidays Location:

Onsite at the Friends in Action Clubhouse. Our EWH (evening, weekend, holiday program) may be offsite at a park, in the community shopping/out to eat, at a parade, etc. Clients:

Adults within the CPR program who join Friends in Action Clubhouse Who will this person interact with on a regular basis?

All Clubhouse members daily who attend; we have about 35-50 members a day at the Clubhouse. Must-have skills for this position:

self-starter, ability to lead a large group, ability to move from task to task, ability to guide/cheerlead a Clubhouse member to get that person started on a task and then move on to the next member, then back to the first member. This open position is for the Business Unit, so computer skills including Excel, Publisher, etc. are preferred. Overview (continued) BJC Behavioral Health

is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. François, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system. Psychosocial Rehab services are primarily delivered in a group setting. These services develop, support and optimize the quality of life and functional abilities of people with serious and persistent mental illnesses. Minimum Requirements

Education Bachelor's Degree Social Work Experience No Experience Licenses & Certifications Class E Driver's License in MO Preferred Requirements Experience Responsibilities

Management of Clubhouse Units - Organize and complete daily unit work with membership side by side/oversee assigned areas - Apply and model the Clubhouse Standards, as stated through the Clubhouse International - Creatively encourage members to participate in their rehabilitation through the WOD by making Clubhouse work urgent and meaningful - Plan and participate in the EWH program (Evening, Weekend, and Holiday activities) - Actively participate in the fundraising efforts of the Clubhouse - Complete frequent outreach of members who are not in attendance - Assist to meet the community needs of members - Provide crisis intervention services as needed Documentation Requirements - Complete Clubhouse orientations including developing recovery goals with members - Complete progress notes according to BJC BH standards - Meet engagement standard set by BJC BH Marketing/Outreach - Provide program information to other community agencies about Clubhouse services through active community involvement (e.g., committees, Chamber meetings, health fairs, job fairs) - Provide opportunities for members to engage in advocacy and events - Develop employment relationships in the community for partnerships - Participate in the TE (Transitional Employment) Program as a placement manager Training/Education - Participate in assigned BJC BH training - Participate in Clubhouse International training - Plan, organize, and participate in conferences/educational events with members - Other Duties as assigned by Supervisor Benefits
