Mechanical Construction Inspector
Demonstrate familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods and processes for buildings and facilities.
Conduct inspection of electrical, mechanical/HVAC and site civil.
Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision as needed.
Collaborate with other field representatives or Project Managers.
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses.
Serve as the most senior inspector on projects as needed.
Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
5 years’ experience in construction inspection of mechanical/HVAC work on major transportation/infrastructure projects for public agencies, such as PANYNJ, MTA/NYCT, NJ Transit, NYCDDC, NYCSCA.
NFPA Fire Protection System Certification and ICC M2 Mechanical Inspector Certification.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
PE license in New York or New Jersey.
OSHA 30-hour training.
Experience with vertical transportation systems.
Preference given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years experience.
Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
Strong written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Successfully passing drug‑screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing.
