Job Location 613 Middleville Road, Herkimer, NY 13350
Job Details Full-Time, Monday‑Friday, 40 hours per week (opportunity for overtime). Awarded compensation based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough, accurate preventative maintenance inspections.
Follow schedules to complete all required maintenance operations including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
Work under direction of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to perform unscheduled maintenance as needed.
Execute complex operations including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs and field tests, interpreting drawings and specifications.
Provide emergency roadside services as required.
Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical defects.
Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.
Maintain tools and workplace conditions neat and orderly.
Perform other duties as required, which may include on‑call service calls, extended hours or weekend work flexibility.
Occasionally drive vans, buses, or other vehicles to perform road tests.
Qualifications
1+ year(s) experience as a diesel mechanic or general mechanic.
Accreditation from a school or certification program preferred.
Completed all required training.
Pre‑employment background check.
