What you'll do: SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Technician will support production operations and manufacturing engineers by directly interfacing with team members and fielding questions, will heavily contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong electrical knowledge, hands‑on problem‑solving skills, and a proactive, data‑oriented mindset.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Guide complex component fabrication or rework based on technical specifications
Review technical documentation (design info, BOM specs, process sheets, technical publications) and provide guidance to engineering and manufacturing
Work with production associates and manufacturing engineers to resolve manufacturing issues and implement continuous improvement projects
Create and modify fabrication process sheets and drawings
Manage CAD models, flat patterns, and nests for fabricated components
Assist manufacturing engineering in data collection activities such as time studies and cycle time studies
Modify plant layout drawings in planning for new production lines or changes in production location
Able to write clear and effective work instructions
Apply electrical knowledge of automotive 12‑volt systems and circuits
Install various automotive electrical components fluently and accurately
Demonstrate understanding of industry‑wide quality standards for electrical systems
Use fixture tools effectively in manufacturing and assembly processes
Exhibit strong on‑the‑spot problem‑solving skills
Be a self‑starter with high motivation and initiative
Understand and apply lean manufacturing principles
What you need to be successful: QUALIFICATIONS:
HS Diploma or GED required, Associate's degree preferred
Minimum 2–3 years hands‑on manufacturing experience
Knowledge of/ability to acquire a thorough understanding of customer expectations and regulatory requirements
Working knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel a plus
Understanding of basic manufacturing and fabrication processes and materials
Able to assist engineering with troubleshooting of manufacturing and assembly processes
Perform as manufacturing engineering assistant as needed
Capable of developing standardized work instructions for manufacturing
Desire to grow current skill set and expand capabilities
Excellent attendance
Positive attitude
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to read relevant measuring equipment
Provide appropriate feedback and documentation
Strong and consistent attention to detail
Self‑motivated with the ability to stay on task
Team oriented
Able to:
Work overtime on short notice
