Summary Assist the Automation Controls Engineer and Maintenance team on troubleshooting, projects, and modifying existing PLC programs and control systems.

Shift 10:00 pm – 6:00 am

Ownership

Supports the development of Milo’s Tea Company automation projects from both a technical perspective and through business intelligence and expertise.

Troubleshoots and installs components of controls systems, such as 4‑20 mA/0‑10 V analog inputs and outputs, photo‑eyes, switches, motor drives, and servo motors.

Reads, troubleshoots, and maintains electrical schematics.

Edits, downloads, and uploads programs in RS Logix 5000, RS Logix 500, and Studio 5000 to maintain systems.

Uses Allen Bradley suites, ME Transfer tool, Factory Talk Linx Network Browser, RS Linx Classic, and other platforms.

Has a basic understanding of how networks of systems operate and is able to troubleshoot systems from a networking perspective.

Diagnoses problems with ladder logic and supports maintenance when necessary.

Follows safety policy and procedures, including lock‑out/tag‑out, hot‑work permit, and confined space.

Upholds and participates in all corporate responsibility programming, including recycling, social advocacy, and MMAD volunteering opportunities.

Performs duties essential to food safety.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related electrical/software technical field is required, and 3 years of experience in ladder logic, networking, and controls systems. Experience with PLC, HMI, and Microsoft Office Suite. Expert knowledge in electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), tags, and symbols. Experience with Siemens Step 7, Rockwell RSLogix/Studio 5000, and ladder logic is preferred.

Some experience in design aspects of P&IDs, instrument ISA data sheets, instrument installation details, low‑voltage wiring, physical conduit routing and cable tray design, loop diagrams, and wiring diagrams and schematics, including motor control.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.

Physical Demands

Employee regularly stands, walks, sits, talks, and hears in person and by telephone; uses hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; reaches with hands and arms. Required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and to wet and/or humid conditions, and occasional exposure to extreme cold. Noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
