Summary of Job Duties The Counseling Program Coordinator in the School of Counseling, Human Performance, and Rehabilitation is a 12‑month tenure‑track faculty position. The Coordinator ensures the program meets CACREP accreditation standards, collaborates with the department director on accreditation processes, and completes all required reporting. Responsibilities include maintaining curriculum relevance, teaching courses, engaging in scholarship, providing service at university, community, and professional levels, managing admissions inquiries, supporting students’ academic procedures, monitoring progress and graduation audits, guiding career planning, developing the program schedule, allocating faculty, assessing outcomes, and contributing to the annual budget. Residency in the greater Little Rock area is required. The position is governed by state and federal laws and institutional policies.
Qualifications Required Education and/or Experience
Ph.D. in Mental Health, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited university (CACREP accreditation strongly preferred).
Licensed or Arkansas license‑eligible in a counseling specialty.
Experience teaching counseling and knowledge of mental health, rehabilitation, and school counseling.
Experience with a learning management system (e.g., Blackboard).
Preferred Education and/or Experience
College/university teaching and student supervision experience.
Experience teaching across face‑to‑face, online, and/or hybrid platforms.
Dedication to multicultural education and social justice (e.g., LGBTQ+, ethnic groups, social class, disability status).
Demonstrated collegial working style.
Training in specialty areas and teaching competency that complement current faculty specialties.
Membership in ACA and ASCA.
Record of conference presentations and publishing in journals or books.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with CACREP accreditation requirements in collaboration with the department director.
Manage the accreditation process and complete associated reporting.
Maintain curriculum content in line with accreditation standards.
Teach courses per the current workload policy.
Engage in scholarship sufficient for promotion and tenure.
Participate in service at the university, community, and professional levels.
Respond to inquiries regarding the program(s).
Collaborate on admission decisions and complete required admission processes.
Assist students with enrollment, probation procedures, and academic support.
Monitor student progress and adjust degree plans as necessary.
Complete graduation audits and ensure required processes (thesis, final project, exams) are finished.
Assist students with career planning and job placement resources.
Develop the program course schedule and assign faculty.
Assess program outcomes and provide input on curriculum mapping related to program goals.
Offer recommendations to the CHPR Director regarding budget development and expenditures.
Attend university meetings designated for Program Coordinators.

Ability to manage, motivate, and evaluate a diverse student population.
