University of Nevada‑Las Vegas is inviting applications for the Manager of Student Information Functional Operations, Information Technology position.
Role Overview The Manager of Student Information Functional Operations leads the functional operations of UNLV’s student information systems (MyUNLV, powered by Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions). The role ensures MyUNLV supports university administrative and academic objectives, overseeing functional configuration and business process alignment across Campus Solutions modules such as Admissions, Recruitment, Registration, Financial Aid, Academic Advising, Student Financials, and Campus Community.
Responsibilities
Lead functional configuration and business process alignment for all Campus Solutions modules.
Manage functional enhancement requests, system testing, and best practice promotion.
Act as liaison between campus business units and functional support team, gathering requirements and ensuring alignment.
Coordinate functional testing, training, and communication of system updates.
Maintain a customer-focused approach, addressing internal and external stakeholder needs.
Supervise a team of functional and business analysts, providing direction, support, and professional development.
Ensure functional configurations align with institutional policies, data security standards, and system best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience managing or supporting enterprise information systems, at least 3 years in a student information system environment (Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions preferred).
Demonstrated success leading or participating in system implementation, upgrade, modification, or enhancement projects.
Substantial exposure to functional operations of key student services (admissions, registration, financial aid).
Familiarity with technical underpinnings of an ERP system like Campus Solutions.
Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Over 7 years of higher education IT experience, including functional experience with Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
Experience at an institution of similar size and complexity (R1 research university).
Direct experience with Oracle PeopleSoft 9.2 student administration modules and Student Financial Planning or similar cloud-based ERP.
Leadership or active participation in a major upgrade or module implementation.
Experience integrating ancillary systems such as CRM (Salesforce), LMS, degree audit tools, or data warehouses with a SIS.
Master’s degree in a relevant field (MBA, M.Sc., M.Ed., Ph.D.) highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge
Comprehensive knowledge of student administration functions.
In-depth understanding of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions modules.
Awareness of compliance and regulatory requirements (FERPA, Title IV, IPEDS).
Familiarity with business process documentation and user support best practices.
Understanding of ancillary systems integration (CRM, LMS, Workday).
Awareness of PeopleSoft Fluid UI and evolving Oracle cloud solutions.
Skills
Manage system configuration, test scenarios, QA, monitoring, and user support.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Lead a team, conduct performance reviews, build team capability.
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills.
Problem‑solving and collaboration across teams for student‑centered solutions.
Experience with PeopleSoft tools (PS Query, Oracle SQL, Notification Framework, Integration Broker).
Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
Abilities
Lead and collaborate across cross‑functional teams and departments.
Translate complex business needs into system configurations.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve functional system issues.
Initiate continuous process and system improvement.
