VICE PRESIDENT OF PRIVATE ASSETS RESEARCH (NY)

Our client is an institutional investment consultant and asset manager providing advisory services to pension funds, endowments, and foundations with over $100 billion of assets.

They are looking to hire an experienced investment professional with a minimum of six years of applicable work experience to join their Private Assets Research Group. The research position includes origination of investment opportunities, manager due diligence, investment monitoring, and market research. The investment focus area will be primary private equity funds.

The position is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with a minimum of six years of relevant work experience as well as an MBA and/or CFA designation (recommended but not required). Relevant work experience includes investment consulting and private equity investing on behalf of a limited partner or general partner. The candidate should be able to multi-task, travel, and be flexible with work hours. This position is located in New York City. Successful candidates will have a passion for private equity investing and want to focus on primary fund investing.

Duties & Responsibilities

Fund-level due diligence. Analyze private equity fund level investment opportunities by working with investment and financial data in Excel format, conducting references, interviewing managers, and reviewing extensive due diligence material. Conduct outreach to sponsors to originate opportunities.

Source fund investment opportunities and direct co-investments in companies which will primarily be leveraged buyouts. Utilize market research and our company data to create market maps and conduct meetings and calls.

Client reporting. Monitor private fund which require knowledge of investment accounting rules and use of a CRM database. Conduct regular meetings with private equity managers. Serve on LP advisory committees. Write client monitoring reports and present findings to clients.

Industry research. Conduct private equity market research. Produce written reports for clients.

Collaborate with team members who are covering private equity, private credit, and real asset investment strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or economics

6+ years of relevant work experience

Must have experience working in private equity

Must have excellent knowledge of investment fund financial statements.

The candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills

Must be proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft programs

The candidate should be a self-starter who can work effectively, both independently and as part of a team

The ability to multi-task is a must
