Overview
Employee coordinates activities of at least one area of programs and services offered by the local health department such as Adult Health, Family Planning, Prenatal, Maternal Care Coordination, Communicable Diseases, Sexually Transmitted Disease Control, and other programs as added.
Hiring Range Minimum Salary:
$69,197.00 Job Rate:
$80,441.00
Responsibilities Plan, coordinate and perform program specific components; including patient assessments, evaluations, education, lab follow-up, immunizations, and other duties as assigned or required. Requires specialized knowledge of program requirements. Assist provider in the clinic as needed, obtaining patient history, administer medications, counsel on medical lab tests results, monitor v/s, education specific to program requirements and patient needs, scheduling diagnostic tests and procedures, obtaining pertinent patient reports. Serve as a liaison with physicians, hospitals, homes and facilities, and/or community programs. Participate on health department committees, workshops and community activities. Staff emergency shelters as needed during disasters or emergency events. Accurate documentation is essential and use of Electronic Health Records for clinical documentation.
Qualifications Graduation from a four-year college or university with BS Degree in Nursing which included a Public Health rotation and one year of Public Health nursing experience; or graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and one year of professional nursing experience. A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing.
