Overview

The Solt lab at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute of Biomedical Innovation and Technology, Department of Immunology and Microbiology, is seeking outstanding, creative, independent, and highly motivated postdocs. The lab focuses on how nuclear receptors influence T cell development, function, and chronic inflammatory diseases. Goals include understanding nuclear receptor function in immunity and developing small molecule ligands to modulate their function for biology and potential therapeutic approaches. Specific to this application, the NIH-funded postdoctoral position will seek to understand how endogenous ligands regulate REV-ERB-specific transcriptional control of TH17-mediated autoimmunity and chronic inflammation.

Responsibilities

Contribute to all aspects of the research project, including experimental design, analysis, and data interpretation.

Work in a multidisciplinary environment using immunology, mouse genetics, molecular biology, and genomics techniques.

Lead within the lab by setting scientific standards, driving complex projects, and supporting career development of trainees.

Develop and write fellowship applications; participate in group and departmental seminars, journal clubs, and conferences.

Engage in collaborations and contribute to high-impact, innovative research in a fast-paced group setting.

Minimum Requirements

Ph.D. (or MD/PhD) in biological sciences such as immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, or biochemistry.

A strong international publication record.

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in immunology (cell culture, flow cytometry, mouse genetics, in vivo models of inflammation).

Expertise in biochemistry, IP, Western blotting, etc.

Epigenetics/Genomics approaches (ChIP, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, CUT&RUN, etc.).

Basic bioinformatic knowledge (R, Python) or ability to learn.

Excellent oral and written English, with strong organization, attention to detail, and analytical abilities.
