Fusion Medical Staffing
Duration: 13-week travel assignment at a facility in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Pay Range This role offers competitive pay based on skills and experience.
Responsibilities
Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence-based protocols
Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing
Required Qualifications
One year recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Preferred Qualifications
AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Proficient in PC skills and following verbal instructions
Physical ability to remain stationary, move about, and lift 50-100 lbs
Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel
Technical and motor skills for fine manipulation and equipment operation
Mental resilience to handle frequent contact with patients under pressure
Good visual acuity and effective communication
