Machining Process Engineer

The Machining Process Engineer position is responsible for all maintenance, process control, applications, and document control within the machining operations. Must be able to understand and edit CNC programs, read blueprints, safely operate machines, and perform routine maintenance. Working closely with the Pattern Shop, Foundry, Cleaning Room, and Quality, this position aims to maximize the machining capabilities of our castings and processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Support Machine Shop maintenance personnel in scheduling preventative maintenance work. Analyze, design, and implement part and process improvements. Oversee new product launches from concept through delivery. Order parts, materials, and tools as needed. Quote fixture work for new castings and modifications. Assist Machine Shop employees with scheduling, specifications, fixtures, programs, and other job-related issues. Develop, update, and control machining documents and processes, including blueprints, models, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and Work Instructions. Recommend purchases of equipment and tooling. Perform CNC programming as needed. Education/Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Machining, Engineering, or related field highly preferred. Alternatively, an Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university, or five years of current experience. Experience in MasterCam 5-axis milling and turning, Mazatrol programming, Mazak Matrix controls, Mazak Integrex, EIA/ISO programming, Fanuc, and 5-axis Machining is highly desirable. Experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is preferred. Ability to operate, debug, and diagnose Fanuc, Mazak, Giddings & Lewis 8000, and NUM controls. Familiarity with PLC Ladder Logic, SCADA, Sequencers, G-code, and creating/editing CNC programs in Mastercam. Benefits
